Came across this little gem today at GrindTV.com. Troy Hartman from Mammoth Lakes, CA has come up with a whole new way to ski, by strapping a jet pack onto his back.
According to the post on GrindTV.com, Hartman has been clocked at upwards of 47 miles an hour… uphill.
Although it we admit it looks pretty fun, we can honestly say we won’t have personal skiing jet packs for sale here at The House, at least not in the near future. To read more about this crazy invention follow the link here.

I ended up trying on the Electric EG2 goggles because they happened to be sitting in Paul’s office (The House photographer and fellow blogger) I had been looking for goggles for some time and I eventually came to the conclusion I wanted Electric goggles, but I wasn’t for sure which ones until I put these babies on. Just a few days ago Lindsey Vonn was on the cover of Sports Illustrated in her ski suit and some people said that was “suggestive”. (see post below) Well, if you disagreed with that before, you have nothing to disagree with this time. Lindsey did a shoot for the Sports Illustrated Swim Suit issue. Hanna Teter also makes quite an appearance in this issue.
Valentines Day may have slipped your mind and now it’s almost last minute. The House can help. We have a ton of great gear that anybody would love. We’ve got sunglasses, T-shirts, hoodies, hats, accessories…. oh yeah and a ton of boarding equipment. Have a gander, I would be surprised if you didn’t find something for your shnookums

I was checking my email on Yahoo when I ran across this story about the ever talented Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn. (Article) It appears she made the cover of Sports Illustrated, which only 4% of the covers have featured women over 60 years. This would be an amazing achievement for Lindsey but WomenTalkSports.com is suggesting that she is in a “sexualized pose”. Now, I don’t know about you guys, but to me that just seems like a regular old skiers tuck, nothing sexual or suggestive about it. Rather, it does seem to me that WomenTalkSports.com is maybe a little biased against Sports Illustrated. I’m not taking sides with either Sports Illustrated or against WomenTalkSports.com ( I’m all about supporting women’s athletics), I’m just saying there is absolutely nothing wrong with that cover shot and everybody should stop steeling Lindsey’s thunder.

There are a couple big things going on in February, one especially rather large and important event, and I thought I would just put a couple schedules out there for you. Read More
Yeah that’s right, we got it goin on. TransWorld Business had their first ever business industry and retail awards this year and The House made the list. We won the Midwest Shop of the Year award. You can check out the article here. Homie in the shop, Sean Barrett, had a few inspirational words for TransWorld:
I can’t even begin to tell you how many things are going down in CO this weekend. For starters there is the X Games in Aspen, which you may have heard about. But there is also the SIA (SnowSport Industries America) trade show in Denver that has actually been going on for a couple days already. The newly launched ASymbol is having a gallery show in Aspen, for more info on that see their Facebook page. TransWorld Snowboarding is having their Rider’s Poll Awards in Denver tomorrow, which for the first time ever is open to the public, so be sure to be there! Thirty Two and Step Child are throwing a party for Joe Sexton and his bran-spankin-new pro model board. Zimtstern is having the thePirateArtBookShow which is actually happening tonight at 8. Plus like 800 other things that I forgot to list or haven’t hear about. If you’re in the area, please hit up some amazing events for me while I’m stuck here in good ol’ Minnesota. Sick stuff, Great People!

This is seriously a movie. I had to look a little further into it just to make sure it wasn’t some kind of joke. I can’t even handle it, I’m crackin up! I think it’s supposed to be one of those “It’s so dumb it’s funny” kinda things like Snakes on a Plane. I don’t know man, this one you’ll have to see for yourself.
