A road movie through Norway & the mind of Terje Haakonsen
From early contest shakeups to progressing the sport in countless magazines and videos, Terje’s influence on snowboarding’s trajectory is truly monumental. Terje’s Olympic boycott and creation of the Arctic Challenge made him a pioneering proponent of rider-run contests. As a competitor he has stacked accolades including all-time high quarterpipe airs and seven Mt Baker Legendary Banked Slalom wins.
Desillusion Magazine’s editor in chief Sebastien Zanella followed Terje Haakonsen on a road trip around Norway to gain a true insight into his life away from the spotlight.

To be fair, there’s nothing basic about Boreal. Boreal sits west of Truckee on what’s know to most as the Donner Pass area. The geographical area is anything but basic, learn from the short history lesson below:
The Donner Party was a group of American pioneer migrants who set out for California in a wagon train. Delayed by a series of mishaps, they spent the winter of 1846–47 snowbound in the Sierra Nevadas. Some of the migrants resorted to cannibalism to survive, eating those who had succumbed to starvation and sickness.
Historians have described the episode as one of the most spectacular tragedies in Californian history and in the record of western migration…and this is why Strange Brew has been know to kill it.

It’s not everyday that you get to see through the eyes of the Burton Snowboards living legend Dave Downing, especially on a splitboard. Splitting with the new Burton Family Tree Landlord splitboard (regular board & splitboard options availble in Fall 2013), new Burton Spark R&D Afterburner bindings, and Burton AK outerwear Dave took to Lake Tahoe the old fashion way, he earned his turns.
