It’s not everyday that you get to see through the eyes of the Burton Snowboards living legend Dave Downing, especially on a splitboard.  Splitting with the new Burton Family Tree Landlord splitboard (regular board & splitboard options availble in Fall 2013), new Burton Spark R&D Afterburner bindings, and Burton AK outerwear Dave took to Lake Tahoe the old fashion way, he earned his turns.

The new Star Wars Burton Chopper have just arrived! Built with Easy Rider Technology these board are made for the little Jedi who want to master the art of snowboarding. The convex base and soft flexing core make this board super fun and catch free, making it possible for even the lightest of rider learn how ride with ease.  The Chopper and Chcklets are also compatible with Burton’s Riglet accessory. Nestled in the entryway of Craig’s Prototype Facility is a place of breathtaking history – the Burton Snowboards Museum.  If there is one place I’d like to spend more time it’d be there.  Sure anyone can google images of vintage snowboards and find an unending supply of pictures, but to breath the historic air of Jake Burton and his empire is something magical. Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum

The Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum does nothing but amaze.  It originally opened as The Vermont Ski Museum in Brandon, VT in 1988; later to be moved to Stowe, VT in 2000 and relocated in 2002 to South Main St. in Stowe.  A wise decision was made to add the word “Snowboard” into the museum’s name in 2011.

The Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum collection contains over 7,750 items that spam 7 categories:  Ski Equipment, Ski Clothing, Mechanical Equipment, Vermont Area / Ski Vermont items, 10th Mountain Division, fina art, and miscellaneous archival materials. Read More

Congratulations to Matt Chase for jumping on the Burton / Midwest Represent and 32 train!

 

The House Boardshop knew there was something different about Matt Chase,  and that’s why we put him on our team.  With a constant smile and a great attitude Matt sets himself apart from the rest of the Midwest riding pack.  Matt’s amazing riding caught the attention of Jayson Henderson from the Burton / Midwest Represent posse and Mike Neville from 32 Boots – both Jayson and Mike decided that Matt deserves a spot on their Midwest teams!  Matt has been killing the USASA Upper Midwest Alt Point Series since the season began, and he’s looking for another shot at the USASA National Championship Slopestyle Title!  Get your autographs now, because in the near future Matt Chase will be a superstar.
