Rapper Lil Wayne got himself a bump on the head last Sunday. He didn’t earn the injury blastin’ gats at a gang funeral or popping bottles of bubbly— he was skateboarding. This is awesome news, in that it serves as a reminder that superstars in other industries still love pushing around as much as the kids around the country.
Lil’ Wayne, Weezy, or Tunechi, depending on where his daily spin on the rapper wheel o’ names lands, fell skateboarding at a park in St. Louis after performing at a local venue. Honestly, it was a little more than a bump, as he was taken to the hospital and sported nine stitches on his way back out. According to his Twitter, he didn’t seem too shaken up about it though, as he had this to say:
After reviewing this random footage we found on YouTube, we’re going to suggest that Weezy sticks to the stage to pay the bills, but he’s welcome to come skate with us anytime. We’ve even got a helmet or two he could use for a little more protection than those dreads appear to be offering.
Our reporters in the field tell us that Lil Wayne is a pretty avid skater, and he likes to pop into parks after shows. In fact, just last night he was already back on the board and skating with some of Sean Malto’s crew in Kansas City. Follow @LilTunechi on Twitter to track him down and teach you the secrets of the shove-it.
