October 19, 2013– Hundreds of Minnesotans unpacked jackets from storage and shook the mothball fragrance off winter gear this past Saturday. Was it time for gorgeous gourd picking? Was it time to get a pumpkin spiced latte and go for a stroll in the city? On the contrary. It was all for snowboarding. Lib Tech’s Downtown Throwdown captivated a crowd of winter-clad MidWesterners who braved the weather which ran the gamut from sunshine to hail.
The crowd rejoiced as both sharpened pieces of ice and Urban riders fell from the heavens. There was a full assault on the senses. Pros and Amateurs stomped the three tiered urban course; which included nine different features allowing for the utmost creativity and choice. Downtown Minneapolis was hammered by a barrage of flashy tricks. Front flips, back flips, backside 270’s, presses, and hand plants galore; just a taste of what was thrown at the jib-tastic broham bash. Hearts and hands were warmed watching hometown heroes and international superstars slay the beast and feed the fires of their passion.
