G-Team Summer Cross Training

G_TeamThis Summer, Join the G-team for a summer Cross Training and Get Ready For Next Season.

At the end of winter we are all sad to pack up our snowboards and skis as the weather gets warmer and summer approaches. What is a board sports athlete to do during the summer months to keep their board skills sharp like your core, balance and muscle movements? Every rider wants to get back on the snow again stronger than the season before with a new bag of tricks to through down. The G Team thinks summer is the best time to improve and learn new skills. Just like other professional athletes who cross train during the off season, The G Team offers training programs for board sports athletes like trampoline to help riders progress even when the snow if gone.

  1. Trampoline Training- Helps to strengthen core muscles and improve body awareness will spinning and flipping. Learning skills on a trampoline first is the safest and most successful way to then bring skills to snow.
  2. Skateboard Training –Movements athletes use in skateboarding like dropping in, balancing and weight distribution are all used while on a snowboard.
  3. Wakeboarding – Think of the wake of the boat as a your kicker on the hill, many of the same principals that wakeboarders use to land tricks are the same as snowboarders.

Brennen and Broc iPhone Day

Brennen Swanson & Broc Waring

Technology these days…yeah this whole edit was shot with an iPhone.  If you want to stack hours of footage a GoPro might be a better option, but Brennen and Broc did a rad just shooting this.  I wonder if they edited it on the iPhone too.

G-Team Update

Taylor Obregon at Hyland Hills

G Team is off to an awesome start for 2012-2013!  Our season started in the Fall with some killer dryland training to get everyone in shape for the riding season.

Before the first snow fell in Minnesota, the G-Team headed to the Rockies for early riding at Copper Mountain!  Copper had tons of runs open, a terrain park and more.  Their trip culminated with the Race to the Cup and USASA alpine competitions.  The team riders totally rocked, despite very little time on the snow.  Jack Taylor and Zach Lulavy both finished as some of the top Junior men in the field.

Shortly after Thanksgiving, our local ski areas pounded out snow to open for the season for our riders to shred!

Fast forward to now, it’s snowing!  We are shredding to a foot of fresh snow and life is good! Hyland, Buck and Wild and Toll’s parks are solid with tons of features and more.  Everyone is ripping!  We have new riders this season who are blowing our minds with their mad skills!  We’ve been hitting up local rail jams too, always a good time.

We’re stoked to get going on the rest of the season and it’s only December!  Let’s get our shred on!

Jordan Daniels Snowboard Gear

Jordan Daniels rips, you’ll see by watching his full part in the YouKnowMyFunction video.  What makes it possible?  The Salomon gear he riders (see items below).  *The song lyrics on the video, uh hmmm…could be considered offensive by some people – watch out. Read More

Six Shooter – Bow-Reel (November Tape) Edit #1

This is the first of many drops to come from the Six Shooter crew.  Raising hell in Truckee and Boreal is all these guys do.  If you’ve never been to Boreal, bring your snowboard there, it’ll like it.  The House team riders Hunter Murphy and Easton Gilman don’t take riding too seriously, and the Bow-Reel shows what snowboarding is supposed to be about, having fun.

Riders in order of appearance:  Casey Pletz, Brady Lem, Ricky Koukal, Dash Kamp, Romi Kristl, Clayton Wenner, Hunter Murphy, and Easton Gilman

Team Skateboard Gear

The House Team Skateboard Gear

It’s pretty amazing to skate comfortably in late November.  Despite the recent cold spike in Minnesota, The House skate crew was able to get some shots at the Little Canada skatepark recently.  Joe & Justin Scherer, Danny Kern, and Kenny Peterson all made it out for a quick little session.  No skateboards broke and we had a blast.  If you’re looking for some gift ideas for a skater, check out what our team skaters ride…HERE.

Danny Kern 2011 Footage

Danny Kern likes sending The House footage.  Here’s a link and some pics DK threw our way.

Keystone Opening Day 2012/2013 Season

The New Kid on the Block - Brandon Kirkland

Kids these days.  How in the world do they make a name for themselves.  They can’t drive, feed themselves, pay bills, or buy lottery tickets.  We collectively know that’s what actually makes us adults – right?  Riders work for decades perfecting their style; ask Richards, Terje, Guch, Downing, and Jones (both of them).  So how in the world would a kid get a spot on The House Snowboard Team?
