Ian McIntosh’s Season Edit

Freeskier Battles Injury to Hammer a Huge Season

Ian McIntosh is one of today’s most talented Big Mountain Freeskiers. He is fast, big, and technical. In 2011, McIntosh suffered a season ending injury while filming with Teton Gravity Research in Alaska. Due to the extent of the trauma to his femur, the 2012 season was also lost. After persistent physical therapy, McIntosh came back to slay the dragon on mountains with sheer and craggy faces, only to suffer yet another injury. This time suffering a broken ankle, the Freeskier known for his strength and burliness seemed to be breaking down. Yet like the phoenix rises from the ash, McIntosh resurrected his 2013/2014 Ski Season and laid down some of the biggest lines of his life. His technicality and extreme athleticism showcased in these lines is matched in his persistence, determination, and resilience.

Mount Bohemia: Midwestern Powder Paradise

Sssshhh…don’t tell anybody. Mount Bohemia is the best kept powder secret in the world. Hidden at the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula, the northernmost tip of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Mount Bohemia is a superb gem and perhaps the best kept secret in the snow sports world. It is often criticized due to lack of knowledge, contempt prior to investigation.  The trip to Bohemia does not disappoint. The U.P. is a special place and the goods are up in those woods.

Although, you are probably right. It is flat and there isn’t any snow…and I hear they make you eat casserole until you’re sick. You should probably stay away. I’ll make the trek, make sure it’s terrible, and report back. That’s just the type of guy I am…
