Sage Kotsenburg 2014 Season Recap

Holy Crail

No one expected Sage Kotsenburg to win Gold at Sochi, least of all Sage himself. Yet he pulled it off while defying conventional tricks and sticking to his unique style of snowboarding.

What we’ve got here is a classic underdog tale of grit, uncompromising integrity, and the struggle to keep our sport true to its roots. The victory couldn’t have happened to a better ambassador for our sport— who has shown the world another side of competitive snowboarding and the importance of doing what you believe is right.

This is the story of Sage’s unlikely season, leading up to Sochi, and what went down after.

Matt Chase | Wild Card

Matt Chase Full Part

House team rider Matt Chase has a pretty insane season last year. After battling through heavy slams and injuries, Matt ended up with some top-notch street hammers and some crazy footage from his summer at Windells. Unfortunately, Matt will not be able to ride this season due to concussions, so we wanted to drop his ender part from Wild Card to keep up the hype.

Terje Haakonsen : Where is your god now.

A road movie through Norway & the mind of Terje Haakonsen

From early contest shakeups to progressing the sport in countless magazines and videos, Terje’s influence on snowboarding’s trajectory is truly monumental. Terje’s Olympic boycott and creation of the Arctic Challenge made him a pioneering proponent of rider-run contests. As a competitor he has stacked accolades including all-time high quarterpipe airs and seven Mt Baker Legendary Banked Slalom wins.

Desillusion Magazine’s editor in chief Sebastien Zanella followed Terje Haakonsen on a road trip around Norway to gain a true insight into his life away from the spotlight.

Strange Brew | Strangers Welcome EP. 6

Strangers Welcome Episode 6

It has come to my attention that we all felt a similar contempt under the seasonal vacation migration of cityslickers unto our respective holylands. Our home at Boreal was not spared. In fact, it was a grade A holiday sh*t show.  Which is actually pretty tight, and that’s why Dan took the ol’ cam out and we joined the crowds on hill to make our sixth installment of Strangers Welcome.

Notice all the Rome boards? Yeah we did too.  CHeck out what we have in stock HERE.

Parker Duke | Almanac

Think Thank Almanac

Screen shot 2015-01-08 at 11.19.08 AMParker Duke comes flying back on to the snowboard scene like a cataclysmic  flash flood or a devastating hurricane; you knew it was just a matter of time, but still you built your house back in the same spot?!?!  Well, better call FEMA because this savage beast is a saber tooth tiger that killed the dinosaurs, survived the ice age and is now laying waste to streets, kickers, mountains and Verticoli hair brushes everywhere!

The planets have aligned, the crops yielded their bounty, the charts were correct and our snowboarding predictions have come to pass! This is the Think Thank Almanac 2014; spins, slides, styles, monsoons, slashes, nourishment, motels, Delores, barley refreshment, galaxies, friendship, drought and the body’s humors all played out in the pantheon of snowboarding.
